Why Should I Care?

Why would I want to enter?

What is the point of this contest? Do people actually care? Don't take our word for it. Listen to a recent winner!

First, a little backstory: Rhone was one of the winners of our Holiday 2024 Name the Jewelry Contest.

Rhone's story

Rhone's mother wrote to us:

Rhone Evangeline is my second daughter's name. Unfortunately, she was born at 27 weeks, stillborn, on December 19, 2020. We found out early on that our baby had Down syndrome and AVSD (atrioventricular septal defect). We knew the risk of stillbirth was high, but we never expected that to happen to us. Thankfully, we got many scans during my pregnancy so we got to see her every few weeks. I know that her time on earth with us was short, but her memory will live on through us forever. We talk about her all the time. Her older sister Quinn and younger sister Stella love visiting with her and picking out her flowers every month on the 19th. We have a themed birthday party every year with a special cake just for Rhone. I would love to see a piece named after her and to be able to share that with my daughters and other family members. No one else got to meet her because my husband and I had Covid for her birth and we were in an isolation room.

A God wink

Recently, Rhone's mother wrote to us again about her experience with the contest:

Anyone that knows me knows that I love a good contest, and they also know that I love talking about my daughter, Rhone. When I submitted her name into the Name the Jewelry Contest with Steward and James, I hoped and prayed that her name would be chosen. When I found out that her name was chosen and that they were mother of pearl angel wing earrings, I just knew she was smiling from heaven. I don't think you knew this, but Rhone's urn is mother of pearl. In the funeral home I was drawn to it and knew that it had to be hers. I recently heard the term "God wink," and the fact that you could have chosen any design or stone in the world, but chose mother of pearl, was definitely a God wink from Rhone.

So many people have supported Steward and James and we all love to RoCk OuR rHoNeS. Of course they are perfect for any occasion, and I have worn them too many times to count. We also all wore them on her birthday, and we plan on wearing them March 21st (World Down Syndrome Day) with our mismatched socks. Thank you for making such beautiful earrings and thank you for making her memory live on.
